Meta Tag Analyzer
Paste HTML or open a local file to inspect its title, description, canonical URL, Open Graph and Twitter metadata. Review practical checks plus Google-style and social-sharing previews — without fetching the page.
Tip: copy the page source from your editor or browser's “View Source.” You can also drag an HTML or text file onto this editor. Nothing is uploaded.
Checks
Search & social previews
Approximate text previews built from extracted metadata. No social image is requested or displayed.
No social image URL extracted.
Extracted head tags
Values are displayed as text and safely escaped by the browser. Repeated multi-image social tags are kept in the inventory.
| # | Type | Name / property | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extracted tags will appear here after analysis. | |||
The inventory is limited to tags within the document head. The input is not rendered as a web page.
What the Meta Tag Analyzer checks
A quick source-level review of metadata that commonly appears in search and social previews.
The analyzer reads metadata from the HTML head, including the document title, meta description, canonical link, robots directive, character encoding, viewport and root language. It also extracts Open Graph properties and X/Twitter card tags.
Checks look for common omissions, repeated single-value tags, non-absolute canonical or sharing URLs, a possible canonical/og:url mismatch and an accidental noindex directive. Length notes are editorial guidance, not fixed ranking rules.
The previews are illustrative text mockups. Search engines and social networks can choose different titles, descriptions, images and formatting. If an image URL is present, it is shown as text only: the analyzer never downloads that image.
This tool parses source you provide; it does not execute JavaScript, crawl links, verify image availability, fetch a remote page, or save your input. For pages that add tags after loading, inspect the rendered page separately.
Frequently asked questions
What the report can and cannot tell you.
Does this fetch a website URL?
No. Paste source or select a local HTML/text file. The analyzer parses that text in your browser and never requests the analyzed site.
Will it load the social image?
No. The image URL is shown as text, and the preview keeps a placeholder instead of making a network request.
Is the HTML uploaded or saved?
No. The analysis is local to this page and the source is not stored by the tool.
Does it run the page's JavaScript?
No. It scans the supplied source only. Metadata that scripts inject later will not appear unless you include it in the input.
Do the length notes guarantee a search snippet?
No. Search engines can rewrite or truncate snippets. The report uses soft guidelines to help spot unusually long or short text.
Why does the preview not show an image?
To keep the analyzer from loading remote assets. This also avoids contacting the image host simply to inspect tags.
